Mrs. Magee's Discipline Plan

We have a large yellow smiley face pocket chart that we call "The Circle of Honor".
Each child has a small nametag with his/her name on it.
Each day, all of the nametags begin the day in the "Circle of Honor".
The children's nametags stay in the "circle" if they remember the rules
which we established on the first day of school
and are added to as needed.

On one side of a door in our classroom is the number two written on a yellow sheet of paper.
On the other side of the door is the number three written on a red sheet of paper.
Each number has a meaning. When their nametag is in the "circle", they are on a "1".
If rules are broken on a continual basis, after several warnings,
they are asked to move their nametag to number "2".
"2" is a warning, and may result in a time out and/or
redirection to another activity.
"3" is a time out and/or redirection to another activity,
and a phone call to parents from the teacher or principal.

If a child does something inappropriate, the first time they have their name called,
I write their name on the board.

The second time they break a rule is when they have to move their nametag to "2".

Each day, the number the child is on is written in their journal which the child takes home each day.
The journal should be signed by a parent/guardian and returned the next school day.
